RGNS students participate in Statewide Elementary Honors Chorus

Five fourth and fifth-grade students from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School showcased remarkable commitment and discipline as they participated in the prestigious 2024 GMEA  Statewide Elementary Honors Chorus held at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center (CCPAC) in Jonesboro, Ga., on Saturday, Feb. 10.

WWII veteran honored on 100th birthday

This month’s Vet to Vet Cafe was a special occasion as distinguished WWII U.S. Navy veteran Lt. J.G., Dr. Eldred Causey was recognized for turning 100 years old. Causey was born on Feb. 11, 1924. He has lived full-time in Rabun County since 1992.

The Dillard House being sold by Dillard family

One of the most iconic venues in America, The Dillard House Inn and Restaurant, is poised to change ownership within the next two months. An agreement has been announced for Atlanta-based Legacy Ventures to purchase century-old landmark The Dillard House Inn and Restaurant.

Multiple DDA projects ongoing to improve downtown Clayton

Many changes have come to downtown Clayton in the past few years and the Clayton Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is constantly working on projects to enhance the experience of shoppers and restaurant-goers in the Main Street area.

Rabun County native celebrates 95 years in style

Rabun County native Florine Wall recently celebrated her 95th birthday surrounded by family, close friends and church members at Wolf Creek Baptist Church. Wall was born on Dec. 5, 1928, at her home in Rabun County. She is one of 14 children and has lived in the county her entire life.

Rabun County native Rodney Coleman, 91, holds a large hornet’s nest found on his property in Tiger. Coleman said the nest was found 25 feet up in a tree on dead tree limbs and his children helped him extract it.
