Students in the Rabun County Schools System will have their first day of classes on Friday, Aug. 5. The Tallulah Falls Schools begin on Aug. 8 and Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Schools will start on Aug. 24.

Pedestrian struck, killed in crosswalk

A pedestrian in the crosswalk died after being struck by a vehicle on July 29 at the downtown East Savannah-Main Street intersection around 8:54 a.m.
“It is now a confirmed fatal crash as of Saturday (July 30),” according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

Millage rollback for Rabun County Schools

TIGER– The Rabun County School System won’t be seeing an increase in taxes this year as the Board of Education plans to rollback the millage rate to 8.375.
This comes on the brink of the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year as students return to classes on Aug. 5.
