Safe Kids Rabun hosts Car Seat Safety Check

CLAYTON– Safe Kids Rabun along with Rabun County Sheriff’s Office deputies sponsored a free car and booster safety check for the community at Walmart July 23. Deputies checked seats for expiration, safety recalls, proper fit and proper installation.

Man suffers injuries from motorcycle crash

A Pennsylvania man suffered severe right leg trauma following a motorcycle crash on Highway 28 near School House Lane in Rabun County July 18. Austin Shultz, 27 of Sweet Valley, was driving South on Georgia 28 around 2:17 p.m. in a 2022 Harley Davidson Road Glide.

Louisiana man dies after collapsing at Tallulah Gorge

TALLULAH FALLS– A Louisiana man died the afternoon of July 15 at Tallulah Gorge State Park after collapsing. The man was identified as Michael Joseph Pergola, 62, of Slidell, according to Mark McKinnon, public affairs officer for Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Division.
