GAINESVILLE, GA – A new and upgraded COVID-19 booster is coming this fall, strengthening the ongoing battle against the changing COVID-19 variants. This new booster aims to provide improved protection against the current circulating strains of the virus.

Fully involved structure fire on Sidetrack Lane

Rabun County Station 4 was dispatched for a smoke investigation in the area of Sidetrack Lane at during Sunday evening, Aug. 27. While responding, another caller reported flames seen in the area. The initial call was upgraded to a structure fire response with Stations 7 and 12 dispatched.

Tallulah Falls appoints Henry as interim council member

The Town of Tallulah Falls has a new interim council member as Cissy Henry was voted in at the council meeting Aug. 16 to fill the seat recently left vacant by Tom Tilley.

Rolling with safety

Yellow school buses are back on the roadway since school started back a couple of weeks ago. It’s important for motorists to know the law when it comes to keeping children safe as they are loading and unloading at school bus stops on streets and highways throughout the county.

LBCA Foundation donates funds for new mattresses at Victory Home

[Clayton, GA] – The Lake Burton Civic Association (LBCA) Foundation donated a $9,250 grant to Victory Home, a faith-based addiction recovery center located in Tallulah Falls. The grant was used to purchase 30 new mattresses to provide adequate sleeping conditions for men in the residential program.

Paving the way for local improvements

CLAYTON– Transportation Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) dollars are at work as C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. worked on paving Chechero St. in Clayton Tuesday. City Manager Trudy Crunkleton said the City of Clayton joined with the county on its paving bid to help reduce the rate. Duvall St.
