Meals on Wheels keep rolling despite COVID-19

Now more than ever, the Rabun County community is coming together to support each other and serve those in need during the COVID-19 crisis.  The Meals on Wheels program, run by the Rabun County Senior Center in Tiger, is still rolling along to deliver meals to those in need.

GDPH now confirming 9 COVID-19 cases in Rabun County

The Georgia Department of Health has issued their 7 p.m. update on COVID-19. One new case was reported in Rabun County.  The state has reported nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Rabun County as of Wednesday, April 22.    No confirmed deaths have been reported for Rabun County.

RABUN GAP—Starting at the crack of dawn Saturday, approximately 70 volunteers sorted, bagged and distributed food packages with an estimated retail value of $80,000 at Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church.

CLAYTON—How many cases of COVID-19 are there in Rabun County? The Georgia Department of Public Health website reported Tuesday that eight people have tested positive for the virus so far. In neighboring Habersham County, the number was 107.

CLAYTON— Clayton City Council members discussed the potential repercussions in Rabun County when Gov. Brian Kemp’s Executive Order goes into effect to reopen the government at their city council meeting Tuesday.
