Rabun Pickleball Club honored as GRPA statewide ‘Volunteer of Year’

The Rabun Pickleball Club was recently named as this year’s Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) statewide “Volunteer of the Year.”  The award recognizes the club’s community service work in and around Rabun County.

‘Whatever it takes to win’; Wildcats ready for street fight in South Georgia

The Rabun County High School football team has clinched a postseason berth in every season for nearly two decades, and the Wildcats continued their run of postseason excellence when they clinched another playoff appearance in a Saturday, Nov. 9, announcement.

‘Built for ‘Ships’; Rabun Gap returns to gridiron state title game for second straight year

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School football team is back in the state title game.  For the second-straight year, and third in four years, the Eagles have advanced to the NCISAA 4A state championship game, this time after defeating rival Christ School 42-7 at home in the semifinal round on Friday, Nov.

The Rabun Nacoochee School boys soccer team advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCISAA Class 4A state tournament after defeating Cannon School 1-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Hanifan-Wagner repeats as champ as Rabun Rec XC shows out in state meet

The Rabun County recreational cross country team capped off its strong fall season at this year’s GRPA state meet in Jefferson on Saturday, Oct. 5.  According to head coach Ed Eidson, those who finish in the top-20 runners of their respective races received medals for their efforts.

Rabun Gap volleyball outlasts Franklin in five-set thriller on ‘Senior Night’

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School volleyball team defeated Franklin (N.C) 3-2 in a five-set battle at home on Wednesday, Oct. 9.  The Eagles fell in the first two sets 25-19, 25-20, but surged back to victory after taking the final three sets 25-16, 24-24, 15-8.

Eagles blast independent Anderson; eye BIG Providence Day contest

For the newly crowned King on Homecoming to be a Rabun Gap football player made a tremendous amount of sense on Oct. 11 as the chilly evening truly was the Eagles’ kingdom in a 56-0 dismantling of the visiting Anderson (S.C.) Cavaliers.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been a driving force in connecting student-athletes around the country with their faith and guiding them to be vessels for Jesus Christ.  FCA is everywhere – from the hallways to the courts and fields – and it has continued to grow since its founding in 1954.

Rabun football honors seniors in 48-14 region win over Patriots

The No. 10-ranked Rabun County High School football team defeated Georgia Class A Division I Region 8 opponent Oglethorpe County 48-14 on Friday, Oct. 11.  Prior to the win, RCHS honored its fall student-athletes for the Class of 2025.
