Water authority awaits Clayton response on valve

It has been since August that the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority replied to the city of Clayton regarding plans for installing a water control valve in the city’s water transmission system. The Authority has yet to receive a response from Clayton.

Clayton outsources human resources; city receives Rural Zone designation

Clayton City Council held back-to-back meetings Tuesday, Oct. 12, a 3:30 p.m. called meeting regarding Human Resources, followed by a 4 p.m. regular work session. Clayton will hold its regular monthly meeting Oct. 19.

Faith and Blue event unites community groups, law enforcement

CLAYTON-- October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, along with local nonprofit Fight Abuse in the Home (FAITH) and local churches, came together at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia last Saturday for the Faith and Blue event.

Stormwater runoff a huge factor in Stekoa Creek pollution

Rabun County received a significant amount of rainfall last week. With Stekoa Creek flowing through residential and commercial areas of town, stormwater runoff is a huge factor to pollution of the creek and its tributaries.

Week-long downpours drench Rabun

Local schools release COVID status

Rabun County Schools, Tallulah Falls School and Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School released COVID-19 updates.  Rabun County Schools For the week of Oct. 4-8:  Rabun County High School reported one active COVID-19 case rolling over from the prior week Monday-Wednesday, and none Thursday and Friday.

Successful Picnic for a Purpose raises more than $40,000

CLAYTON -- Place of Hope North Georgia’s first-time fundraiser, Picnic for a Purpose, was a sold-out success, raising more than $40,000 to support children and families in the Rabun County foster-care system.
