James Harold Thurmond

James Harold Thurmond, age 78, of Winder, Ga., passed away from cancer on December 3, 2020.  Harold was born at home in Rabun Gap on February 4, 1942 to Clarence and Ann Thurmond. He was a younger brother to Annette and William. His family operated a dairy farm in Wolffork Valley in Rabun County.

Billie Jean Southards Beck

Billie Jean Southards Beck, age 56, of Clayton, Ga., passed away on December 2, 2020.  B.J. was born the daughter of the late Max Southards and the late Jeanie Shelton Southards on August, 3, 1964. In her professional life she worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service.

Margie Burton

Margie Burton, 92, of Athens, W.V., (formerly of Fredericksburg, Va.), passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital.  Born May 17, 1928 in Rabun County, Ga., she was the daughter of Jesse and Samantha Parker.

Mary Lee Anderson

Mary Lee Anderson R.N., age 76, of Buford, Ga. passed away on December 4, 2020. She was born the daughter of the late Henry Leonard Anderson and the late Mae Anderson on December 26, 1943.  In her professional life she worked as both a registered nurse and a real estate broker.

Harold E. Alexander

Harold E. Alexander, age 91, of Clayton, Ga., passed away on December 2, 2020.  Harry, as he was known to his friends, was born the son of the late George David Alexander and the late Lillian Aline Foerster Alexander on July 6, 1929.

Michael David Smith

Michael David Smith, age 71, of Clayton, Ga., passed away on November 23, 2020. David was born the son of the late Milton Smith and the late Bernice Edmonds Smith on January 7, 1949.

Richard Kenneth Dodson

Richard Kenneth Dodson, 87, of Clayton went to his heavenly home November 27, 2020. Kenneth was born in Greenville, S.C., the son of the late Wesley Cleo Dodson Sr. and the late Mary Grace Phillips Dodson Barrett. Richard worked at Burlington Industries for 30 plus years in maintenance.

Rev. Robert (Bob) E. Gorday

Rev. Robert (Bob) E. Gorday passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.  He was born in 1928 in Jackson, Miss. to John and Thelma Gorday.

Randy Dean Giles

On Monday, November 23, 2020, the Giles family lost their daddy, brother and grandfather. Randy Dean Giles entered into the presence of the Lord unexpectedly that night. Randy was born in Rabun County Hospital on October 19, 1957.

Rev. William Asbury Craft

Rev. William Asbury Craft, age 86, of Blairsville, went to be with the Lord on Friday November 20, 2020 at his granddaughter's home following an extended illness.  Asbury was born on May 13, 1934 in Powder Springs, Ga., son of the late Luther Blake Craft & Kate Camp.
