Michael Allen Marsengill, 72, of Lakemont, Ga. passed away Aug. 6, 2020 at North East Georgia Medical Center. The family will have a private service due to the COVID-19 epidemic.  Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.

John Lee Wyatt, of Dillard, Ga., passed away on July 30, 2020, his 81st birthday.  Lee was born the son of the late Mertha Lee Wyatt and the late Beverly Gardner Royal Wyatt on July 30, 1939. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Jonathon Levii English.

Dr. Jack Suddath Short, age 86 of Clayton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Jack was born in Cornelia, Ga. in 1934. He moved to Clayton, Ga. at the age of 10 and graduated from Clayton High School.

Dorothy Pearl Talley Carpenter, 91, of Scaly Mountain, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Angel Medical Center. Born Feb. 18, 1929 in Rabun County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John Talley and Effie Carpenter. She lived her life in Rabun County, Ga., and Scaly Mountain, N.C.

Brye Leman (Bud) Darnell, Jr.

Brye Leman (Bud) Darnell, Jr., age 83 of Rabun Gap, Ga., and Cumming, Ga., went to his heavenly home August 3, 2020. He was born September 30, 1936 in Rabun County to Brye and Pauline Norton Darnell.  He was a member of Betty’s Creek Baptist Church Rabun Gap, Ga.

Gertrude Gragg Lovell, 91, of Clayton, Ga., passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020 at her home. Born in Rabun County, Ga. on May 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harley Gragg and Omie Free. She graduated high school at Lakemont High School.

Morene Delila Whitmire

Morene Delila Whitmire, 75, of Rabun Gap, Ga., passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born Oct. 25, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Numerous Marcus and Grace Lovell Marcus.

Dolly Newsome Murray

Dolly Newsome Murray passed away of kidney failure on Aug. 3, 2020 on her 92nd birthday. She was born in Gibson, Ga. to Brady and Edith Newsome. One of 11 children, she is survived by sisters Margaret Smith of Damascus, Va., Ruby (Harold) Harbin of Evans, Ga.

Kay Turpin Carpenter

Kay Turpin Carpenter, age 70, of Clayton, Ga., passed away on July 23, 2020. Kay was born the daughter of the late Jesse Hardman Turpin and the late Mildred Virginia Stancil Turpin.  Kay was a loving wife to Jack for 54 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Pamalee Menchetti Busick, age 70 of Clayton, passed peacefully Saturday, July 18, 2020, at home in her husband's arms. She was preceded in death her mother, Kay Gradsky; father Leon Gradsky; and older brother, Ron Gradsky.
