Activities bring awareness to domestic violence in our community

October is “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” and community members have come together for various activities and education outreach to bring attention to the important cause, how it impacts our community and what we can do together to help.

Motorists traveling on Chechero Street near Plaza Way around 2:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, likely noticed water spraying profusely in the area. Standing water could be seen along the parking lot behind the shopping center as well.

York moves forward after overcoming breast cancer

Advocating for your own health and moving forward are important goals for Jolie York after being diagnosed with, going through treatments, and overcoming breast cancer. At age 37, York was very healthy with no family history of breast cancer.

Forward Rabun Youth Leadership Program off to a great start

Forward Rabun’s Youth Leadership Program is up and running and off to a great start this year, as participating students were introduced with a visit to Rabun’s own Foxfire Museum and Village.
