Sky Valley Fall Fest brings crowds for family fun

Rabun County residents and visitors alike followed the Hay Bale Trail through the windy mountain roads to Sky Valley for the 11th annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Anderson seeks re-election to House District 10 seat

Georgia District 10 Rep. Victor Anderson (R-Cornelia) has four years of experience at the state legislature under his belt, and he’s hoping for a third term as he seeks re-election this November where he faces a Democratic challenger – Paulette Williams of Rabun County.

Hatchett vies for another term in Senate

State Sen. Bo Hatchett (R-Cornelia) is vying for his third term this November representing Georgia State Senate District 50. This year he is facing a Democratic challenger June Krise of White County.

Krise seeks to be women’s voice in Senate

June Krise wants to be a voice for women in the Georgia State Capitol. “Women are upset,” she said, explaining she’s been finding calls. “Women are under attack.” She is the Democrat running for the District 50 Senate seat against incumbent Bo Hatchett.

The Wildcat Marching Band really roared as Rabun County High School had a super showing on the field in the Oct. 12 Jaguar Classic competition at New Manchester High School in Douglasville, Ga. RCHS claimed the Class 2A overall championship and earned runner-up as the overall grand champion.

Advance voting for Nov. 5 election continues

Advance voting is underway as some Rabun County citizens have already cast their ballots on the first day Tuesday for the General Election. The early voting ends Friday, Nov. 1, with two opportunities for Saturday voting on Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 as well.
